Puerto Rican Problem #1: BURNT arroz con habichuela

Some of you may be wondering why is this blog post about a Puerto Rican Problem when the blog is called wanna be guidette.  Well to tell you the honest truth, Im Puerto Rican, like 100 %.  I know shocking right?! I still can't believe it either. Well, as much as i would love to be Italian, i can't continue to live in this fantasy life, so sometimes i do think about problems i face.  One of those is when you have BURNT arroz con habichuela.  If you don't know spanish, that means BURNT rice and beans.  In the Puerto Rican culture arroz con habichuela is a NECESSITY for any dinner, family celebration, or anytime food is required.  Imagine, your at a home birthday party and the rice and beans are cooking in the kitchen of your grandmothers house.  Then all of a sudden the house turns gray and it smells like burnt food! Your going to go crazy !!!! EVERYONE looks forward to the rice and beans and for your grandmother to burn them is like having your twenty dollar bills flushed down the toilet!! PUERTO RICAN PROBLEM!!! What on God's Green Earth are you going to do from there?! You should just go try to be Italian because burnt rice and beans mean nothing for Puerto Ricans. Sorry :/ be back next week with your next guidette problem!
